The Ford Taurus  is available in four different trims, all of which are well-appointed. The SE version comes with amenities such as alloy wheels, automatic headlights, integrated blind-spot mirrors, LED taillights, an exterior-access keypad, cruise control, air-conditioning with rear seat vents, a six-way power driver seat, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack.

The base Ford Taurus is motivated by a 3.5-liter V6 that provides 288-horsepower to go along with 254 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission in the standard configuration, while all-wheel drive is an option on the SEL and Limited trims. EPA fuel economy for this powertrain is rated at 19/29 miles per gallon, city/highway. Another optional engine for the Taurus is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that generates 240-hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. Gas mileage is 22/32 mpg. The SHO model gets a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 365-hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is 17/25 mpg. You may get different figures depending on driving conditions.
